Which Version Do You Need?
Two things decide it. First, your battery brand - Ryobi ONE+ and Ozito use different battery footprints, so choose the version matching the batteries you own. Second, your vacuum generation - V6, V7 and V8 mount their batteries differently, so the adaptor is generation-specific. Check the model printed on your vacuum's body or on the original battery before ordering. It does not fit V10, V11 or newer machines, which use a different design entirely. What Battery Size Should You Use?
Our supplier recommends 4.0Ah or larger, and the reason is current draw rather than capacity. A vacuum motor pulls hard and continuously, and a small 1.5Ah or 2.0Ah tool battery is not built for that - it will sag under load, run hot, and give a disappointing few minutes before cutting out. A 4.0Ah or 5.0Ah pack handles the draw comfortably and gives run time well beyond the original. Use only lithium batteries, and only the genuine charger for whichever brand you own.
What Should You Know Before Fitting One?
Be clear-eyed about the trade-offs, because they are real. Using a third-party adaptor will almost certainly void the manufacturer warranty on both the vacuum and the tool battery, so this is a solution for out-of-warranty gear. The combination also changes the balance of the machine significantly - a tool battery is heavier and sits differently to a stick pack, so the vacuum becomes noticeably more back-heavy and less comfortable to hold overhead. And as with any lithium battery use, never charge or run it unattended, and stop immediately if anything gets unusually hot.
Buyers are typically people who already own Ryobi or Ozito tools and have a V6, V7 or V8 with a dying battery, and people who want much longer run time than the original stick pack gave.
