Why Buy White Separately From a Colour Set?
Because usage is nothing like even. In a cafe or a shop window, white does the lettering and the colours do accents, so white empties two or three times faster than anything else in a mixed pack. Is 3mm Fine Enough for Small Lettering?
Yes - 3mm is the general-purpose lettering width and it is what most handwritten menu boards use. A 6mm chisel is better for large headings and for filling in a letter, while 3mm handles the body text, prices, and detail like underlines and small illustrations. If you letter a full A-frame board you will want both widths. For a window, a mirror or an acrylic wedding sign, 3mm on its own is usually enough.
How Do You Store Chalk Markers So They Do Not Dry Out?
Cap on firmly, and store them horizontally or nib-down rather than nib-up. Stored upright with the nib in the air, the ink drains back into the barrel and the tip dries out between uses - which is the most common reason a marker seems dead after a few weeks. If a nib has dried, press it down on scrap for a minute or two to pull ink back through before assuming the pen is finished.

It almost certainly needs priming. Press the nib down on scrap for 1-3 minutes until ink flows.

Yes, with a damp cloth.
How is this different from the 6mm set?
