These are two gold metallic Paint Pens with a 1.5mm tip, priced at $16.99. The barrel is 14cm and the ink is permanent - it will not wash off once dry. The tip is slightly broader than our silver pen's 1mm, which makes it the better choice for lettering that needs to carry across a room.
Gold is the colour that works on the widest range of stock. Silver needs a dark background to read properly; gold holds its own on kraft brown, ivory, blush and white as well as on black - which is why it is the default for wedding stationery.

Is Gold or Silver Better on Kraft and Dark Card?
On kraft brown, gold wins clearly - the warm tones sit together and the metallic catches light against the matte paper. On black, both work, though gold reads warmer and silver reads sharper and more modern. On white or ivory, gold is visible where silver tends to disappear into a grey smudge. If you are only buying one metallic pen, buy gold; add silver when you are working on dark or cool-toned stock.
What Does the 1.5mm Tip Suit?
Names on place cards, table numbers, gift tags, signage and anything read from more than arm's length. The extra half millimetre over a 1mm pen makes strokes noticeably more solid, which matters for metallic inks because a thin metallic line can look patchy rather than lustrous. For very small work - captioning the back of a photograph, writing inside a ring box - the 1mm silver is the finer tool.
Can You Write on Glass and Plastic With It?
It will mark both, and people do use paint pens on glass jars, baubles and plastic. Bear in mind it is formulated for paper and card, so on a slick non-porous surface the ink sits on top and can be scratched off with a fingernail before it fully cures. Give it longer to dry on glass, avoid handling the marked area, and do not expect it to survive a dishwasher. For a wipe-clean glass surface, use our chalk markers instead.
