Description

This is a 700 pack of self adhesive Googly Eyes priced at $11.99, sorted across seven sizes from 4mm up to 12mm. The backs are flat with adhesive already applied, so they press straight onto a project without a glue gun.

Anyone who has run a craft session with children knows the actual problem: you have 20 kids, three of them want tiny eyes for a ladybird and two want enormous ones for a monster, and the pack you bought has 40 eyes all the same size. A graded 700 pack fixes the supply problem and the size problem at once, which is why classrooms and school holiday programmes buy this rather than small packs.

Why a Graded 700 Pack Works Better Than Small Packs

  • Seven sizes in one box - a 4mm eye for a bug and a 12mm eye for a monster, from the same pack
  • Adhesive already on - no glue gun, no waiting, no burnt fingers in a classroom
  • Flat backed - they sit properly on paper, card and craft foam instead of rocking
  • Weighted to the small sizes - 400 of the 700 are 4mm and 5mm, which is what actually gets used
  • Enough for a whole term - one purchase rather than reordering mid-project

Why 700 Eyes Instead of a Small Pack?

Because googly eyes are consumed in pairs by children who lose about a third of them into the carpet. A 40-pack is twenty faces, which is one classroom activity for one small group. At 700 you can run the same activity for a full class, several times, and still have the odd sizes left for the child who wants a spider with eight eyes. For a scout group, an OSHC programme or a school holiday craft table, buying in bulk once is far cheaper per eye than repeated small packs.

Will the Adhesive Hold on Fabric?

On paper, card, craft foam, painted wood and smooth plastic, the self-adhesive backing holds well. On fabric, felt and anything fluffy it will hold at first and then lift, because the adhesive cannot key into a fibrous surface. For a stuffed toy, a felt puppet or anything that will be handled or washed, add a dot of craft glue or a hot glue gun as well. The same applies to anything going outdoors or anywhere warm - heat softens the adhesive.

Which Sizes Get Used the Most?

The small ones, by a wide margin, which is why the pack is weighted that way. 4mm and 5mm suit the scale of most children's drawings, pom pom creatures, paper plate faces and egg carton bugs. 6mm and 7mm are the general-purpose sizes for card characters. The 8mm, 10mm and 12mm are for statement pieces - the monster, the puppet, the class display on the wall - and there are fewer of them for exactly that reason.

Buyers are teachers, OSHC and vacation care staff, scout and guide leaders, parents stocking a craft cupboard, and adults doing card making and scrapbooking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do they come with glue?
The adhesive is already on the back of each eye. No separate glue is supplied or usually needed.

Are the sizes separated in the pack?
They arrive mixed across the seven sizes in the quantities listed above.

Do they actually wiggle?
Yes. The black pupil moves freely behind a clear domed front.

Can I use them on a stuffed toy?
Add craft glue as well - the adhesive alone will not survive handling on fabric. For a toy given to a child under three, sew on felt eyes instead.

Are they washable?
No. Keep finished pieces out of the wash.

What colour are they?
Black pupils in a white surround.

Are they safe for young children?
They are small parts and a choking hazard. Not suitable for children under 3, and older children should be supervised.
