Description
This Heat Shrink Tubing kit holds 150 pieces for $13.99, in red and black across 8 sizes from 2mm up to 13mm. Unlike a uniform-length kit, the pieces come in 30mm, 60mm and 100mm lengths - the larger diameters are supplied longer, which is what heavier cable actually needs.
Two things separate this from our 530 piece kit: it goes bigger, up to 13mm supplied diameter where the other stops at 10mm, and its 100mm lengths cover joints that a 45mm piece cannot reach across. If you are working on battery cable, trailer looms or anything with a chunky connector, this is the one.

Why the Bigger Sizes and Longer Pieces Matter
-
Goes to 13mm - covers battery lugs and heavy connectors a 10mm kit cannot
-
100mm lengths on the large sizes - long enough to span a joint plus strain relief either side
-
Red and black only - the two colours that matter for polarity
-
Even split - equal red and black in every size, so you never run out of one
-
Same thermal and electrical specs as our larger kit
How Is This Different From the 530 Piece Kit?
Range and length, not quality - the material specs are identical. The 530 kit has five colours and more pieces but tops out at 10mm with every piece 45mm long, which suits signal and light automotive wiring. This kit has only two colours and fewer pieces, but reaches 13mm and supplies 100mm lengths on the big sizes. Many people end up owning both: the 530 for general work and this one for the heavy joints.
Why Do Longer Lengths Matter?
Because a good joint needs tubing past the connection on both sides, not just over it. A 45mm piece over a crimped butt connector leaves almost nothing either end, so the tubing grips the connector rather than the cable and the joint flexes right at the edge of the insulation - which is where wires eventually break. A 100mm piece lets you cover the joint and 25mm of cable each side, giving real strain relief.
Is Heat Shrink an Acceptable Insulation Repair?
For low-voltage work - automotive, marine, hobby electronics, 12V systems - a properly made and heat-shrunk joint is standard practice. For mains wiring it is not: repairs to fixed 240V wiring in Australia must be carried out by a licensed electrician and to the relevant standard, and heat shrink over a twisted joint is not an acceptable substitute for a proper termination. Keep this kit for the low-voltage side.
Buyers are doing battery and starter cable work, trailer and caravan looms, marine wiring, and repairs to heavier automotive cable.
Our 530 piece kit covers the smaller sizes in five colours. See Tools & Hardware and Automotive.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many pieces?
150, evenly split between red and black in every size.
What is the biggest size?
13mm supplied, shrinking to about 6.5mm.
Are all pieces the same length?
No - 30mm, 60mm and 100mm depending on diameter.
Is it really UL approved?
That is what the supplier states. We have not independently verified it.
Can I use it on 240V mains wiring?
No. Fixed mains wiring must be repaired by a licensed electrician.
Is it adhesive lined?
No, this is plain wall tubing.
Which kit should I buy?
This one for heavy cable and long joints; the 530 piece kit for general small-gauge work in five colours.
Fast Australian Shipping
Dispatched from Australia to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra and Darwin, with regional and remote addresses handled through the standard Australia Post network.
Measurements are approximate, and the supplier notes 1-2mm variance. Screen colours vary between devices. Certification claims are as stated by the supplier and have not been independently verified. Heat guns cause burns - let work cool before handling. All work on fixed mains wiring must be carried out by a licensed electrician.
