Description
These cooling arm sleeves are sold as a pair in a blue stone print, approximately 38cm long in a unisex free size, priced at $13.99 with fast Australian shipping. They are made from a stretch, breathable, moisture-wicking fabric, are machine washable, and are designed to be worn on bare arms during outdoor activity.
The appeal is not complicated: they cover your arms without adding a layer of heat. A long-sleeved shirt in an Australian summer is a trade, and most people take the sunburn. An arm sleeve is thin, sits directly against the skin, and wicks sweat outward where it evaporates - which is where the cooling sensation comes from. It also means you can put them on and take them off in seconds, which matters when the round of golf starts at seven in the morning and finishes in full sun at eleven.

Why Choose These Arm Sleeves
-
Cover without a layer - thin stretch fabric instead of a long-sleeved shirt over the top of everything
-
On and off in seconds - useful when the sun arrives partway through the activity
-
Moisture-wicking - sweat moves to the outside of the fabric and evaporates rather than sitting on the skin
-
No imprints or itch - breathable fabric with a soft edge rather than a tight elastic band
-
Washes and goes again - machine wash and hang dry, so they live in the golf bag or the car
Do Cooling Arm Sleeves Actually Feel Cooler?
Yes, and the mechanism is evaporation rather than refrigeration. The fabric pulls sweat away from the skin and spreads it across a larger surface where moving air can evaporate it, and evaporation takes heat with it. That means they work best when you are moving, when you are actually perspiring, and when there is some airflow - on a bike, walking a course, on a boat. Sitting still in humid, still air, the effect is much smaller. They are not chilled and they do not contain any cooling agent; the sensation is your own sweat doing its job more efficiently.
What Should You Look For in Sun-Protective Sleeves in Australia?
A UPF number, tested to AS/NZS 4399. That is the Australian and New Zealand standard for sun-protective clothing, and a garment tested to it carries a UPF rating - UPF 50+ being the top classification. Our supplier does not provide a UPF rating or AS/NZS 4399 test data for these sleeves, so we do not make a sun protection claim for them and we would not want you to buy them for that reason alone. Treat them as lightweight cover and comfort wear, and use sunscreen on exposed skin and a rated sun-protective garment where UV protection is the priority.
How Do You Stop Arm Sleeves Slipping Down?
Three things help. Put them on dry skin before sunscreen rather than after, because sunscreen makes the top band slide. Pull them high so the top band sits on the widest part of the upper arm rather than partway down the bicep, where there is nothing for it to grip. And wash them regularly - body oils and sunscreen build up in the elastic top band over a season and are the usual reason a pair that used to stay put no longer does. If a free-size sleeve is loose on a slim arm, it will slip regardless.
Buyers are typically cyclists, golfers, anglers, tradespeople working outdoors, and drivers who get sun through the window on one arm. They are also used indoors as a light cover-up in air conditioning.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do these have a UPF rating?
No rating is stated by the supplier and we do not claim one. For sun protection, look for a garment tested to AS/NZS 4399 with a printed UPF number.
Will one size fit me?
They are a unisex free size at about 38cm long, designed to stretch across a wide range. Very slim or very large arms may find the fit loose or tight respectively.
Can I wear them under a shirt?
Yes. They are thin enough to layer, and some people wear them under short sleeves for the forearm coverage.
How do I wash them?
Machine wash and hang dry. Avoid the dryer and fabric softener, both of which damage stretch fabrics and reduce wicking.
Are they see-through?
They are lightweight fabric with a printed pattern. Opacity varies with how far the fabric is stretched.
Do they help with insect bites?
Physical cover reduces exposed skin, but these are not treated and make no insect claim.
Is the print on both sleeves the same?
Yes, they are supplied as a matched pair. Print placement can vary slightly between pairs.

No sun protection claim is made for this product. The supplier does not provide a UPF rating or testing to AS/NZS 4399, the Australian and New Zealand standard for sun-protective clothing, so these sleeves must not be relied on for UV protection. Continue to use sunscreen, a hat, shade and rated sun-protective clothing. This is general apparel, not protective equipment. Colours and print placement may vary slightly between screens and batches; length is supplier-stated and may vary.
