Description

This electric foot massager uses two shiatsu-style heads to knead and roll the soles of the feet and the calves, with a switchable heat function and a remote control for changing modes without bending down. It is finished in navy blue and is $107.56 at Lets Party. Please read the section on who should not use one before ordering.

Anyone who stands for a living knows the specific tiredness that settles into the arches and calves by the end of a shift - nurses, hospitality staff, retail workers, tradespeople, teachers. Rubbing your own feet works and is also awkward, brief and requires bending into a position that is itself uncomfortable. A machine you put your feet into does the same job for twenty minutes while you sit still, which is really the point: it is not that a machine kneads better than hands, it is that it keeps going and you do not have to reach.

Why Choose a Machine Over a Foot Roller

  • It keeps going - the value of a powered massager is duration, not power; twenty unbroken minutes is what a manual roller never delivers.
  • Calves as well as feet - most cheap devices do soles only, and calves are where standing all day actually accumulates.
  • Remote control - you change mode without leaning forward, which matters more than it sounds when your feet are inside the machine.
  • Switchable heat - warmth on tired feet is most of the perceived benefit, and you can turn it off in summer.
  • You sit still - it works while you read or watch television, so it actually gets used rather than sitting in a cupboard.

What Does Shiatsu Kneading Actually Do?

Shiatsu-style massage heads are rotating nodes that press and circle rather than vibrate. On a foot massager they work across the sole, applying moving pressure that feels like thumbs rather than a buzz - which is why people generally find them more satisfying than vibration-only devices. Combined with a rolling action underneath, you get pressure across the arch and along the length of the foot rather than in one spot. What it delivers is comfort and the sensation of relief after being on your feet. We are not going to tell you it treats anything, because it does not - it is a comfort appliance, and that is a perfectly good reason to own one.

Who Should Not Use a Foot Massager?

This is the part most listings leave out, and it matters more here than on most products.

Talk to your doctor before using a foot massager if you have diabetes, particularly with any nerve damage or reduced sensation in the feet - reduced sensation means you may not feel pressure or heat that is doing harm, and the heat function compounds that. The same applies if you have peripheral neuropathy from any cause, poor circulation or peripheral arterial disease, a history of blood clots or DVT, varicose veins, osteoporosis, a recent fracture, sprain or surgery on the leg or foot, or any open wound, ulcer or skin infection on the feet or legs. Do not use it during pregnancy without medical advice. Do not use it on children.

None of that makes this a dangerous product for a healthy adult. It means a foot massager is one of those items where a two-minute conversation with your GP is worth having if any of the above applies to you, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it.

Does the Heat Function Matter?

To most users, yes - warmth is a large part of why a foot massage feels good, and on a cold evening it is the difference between using the machine and not bothering. It is switchable, which is the right design: heat is unpleasant in an Australian summer and, as above, is the feature to avoid entirely if you have any reduced sensation in your feet. Start with heat off for the first session so you can judge the mechanical intensity on its own, then add it if you want it.

Buyers are typically people who stand all day at work, older adults, runners and walkers, and anyone buying a present for a parent who says their feet are killing them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size feet does it fit?
The supplier has not published a maximum foot size, which is the specification we would most like to have. Message us before ordering if you take a large size and we will ask them.

Is it RCM approved?
No Australian compliance evidence has been supplied to us, so we are not claiming any. We have requested it. It is a mains appliance - if formal compliance matters to you, wait until we can confirm.

Can I use it with shoes or socks on?
Socks are fine and many people prefer them. Shoes are not - they defeat the point and can jam the mechanism.

How long should a session be?
The supplier does not state a maximum. Fifteen to twenty minutes is the usual guidance for devices of this type; more is not better.

Does it do anything for plantar fasciitis or other conditions?
We make no therapeutic claim. It is a comfort appliance. If you have a diagnosed foot condition, ask your GP or podiatrist whether massage is appropriate for it.

Is the cover removable for washing?
The supplier does not say. Do not put any part of a mains appliance in water.

Is it noisy?
No noise level has been published. Powered kneading mechanisms make an audible mechanical sound.

Specifications are as supplied by the manufacturer. THIS IS A COMFORT APPLIANCE, NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE, and no therapeutic claim is made for it. Seek medical advice before use if you have diabetes, neuropathy, circulatory problems, a history of blood clots, varicose veins, osteoporosis, a recent injury or surgery, or any wound or infection on the feet or legs, or if you are pregnant. Not for use by children. Mains powered - keep away from water and do not leave running unattended.
