Description

A Halloween door cover is a printed fabric panel that hangs over a doorway and turns it into part of the decoration instead of a gap in it. This one is 90 x 180cm of smooth polyester with a grommet in each corner, sized for a standard door, a classroom door or a hallway, and it comes in five different Halloween designs.

Doors are the awkward part of decorating. They are the thing everyone walks through, so they are the thing everyone looks at, and they are also the surface you cannot tape anything to without it falling off by mid-afternoon. A printed cover solves it in one move: the whole door goes from beige to a scene, it takes about a minute to hang, and it comes off at the end of the night without a scrap of tape residue. In a classroom it does the same job for a display that would otherwise take a lunch break and half a roll of butcher's paper.

Why a Door Cover Beats Paper and Tape

  • One piece, one minute - hook the top two corners and it is done. Cut-outs, streamers and paper scenes take a lunch break and start falling off within an hour.
  • Nothing sticks to the door - it hangs from corner grommets, so no tape marks, no blu-tack grease spots and no arguments with a school caretaker.
  • The print holds its colour - polyester with a proper dye print does not go blotchy the way a printed paper poster does under fluorescent light.
  • Five designs to pick from - do one door in each if you are decorating a corridor, so it does not read as the same thing repeated.
  • It folds and comes back - store it flat with the rest of the Halloween gear and it is ready to go next October instead of ending up in the recycling.

How Do You Hang a Halloween Door Cover?

The fastest method that damages nothing: two adhesive hooks on the top of the door or the frame above it, and hook the top two grommets over them. Over-door coat hooks work just as well if you already have them. In a classroom or hallway where you cannot stick anything, thread string through the top grommets and tie it around the door closer, the top of the frame or a hook already in place. Hang the top corners first, let the fabric drop, then fix the bottom two grommets if you want it to sit flat and stop swinging every time the door opens. If the door needs to keep working, hang the cover on the frame rather than the door leaf, or leave the bottom loose so it swings with the door.

Will It Fit a Standard Door?

At 90cm wide it covers the width of a standard internal door with a little to spare, which is why it works on classroom and hallway doors. The height is 180cm, and most internal doors are taller than that, so plan on hanging it from the top and leaving a strip of door showing at the bottom. That reads fine visually - the eye goes to the print, not the gap - but it is worth knowing before it arrives so you are not surprised. If you want to fill the full height, hang it a little lower and use a mat or a prop at the base to cover the difference.

Can You Use It on a Classroom Door?

Yes, that is exactly what the size is designed around. School doors and hallway doors are the standard width these covers are cut for, and because they hang from grommets rather than sticking on, they meet the usual rule about not putting adhesive on painted doors. If your school runs a decorated door competition, the practical advantage over paper is that this goes up in under a minute, survives a week of being pushed through by thirty kids, and does not tear the first time someone catches it with a school bag. Five designs means a corridor can have a different one on each classroom.

Who Uses Them

Teachers decorating classroom doors and corridors for Halloween week. Parents doing a front door or a bedroom door for a kids party. Offices and shopfronts that want a bit of seasonal effort without committing to a full display. Party hosts covering the doors people actually queue outside, like the bathroom door and the door to the room you did not tidy. And anyone who wants a cheap, fast photo spot - a door cover behind two people is a perfectly good backdrop for a phone camera.

Pair It With

Frame the doorway and the cover does the rest. The Gothic Black Lace Spider Web Curtains hang either side of the frame, and 2.5m Giant Stretch Spider Web pulled into the top corners with a 4pk Black Giant Spiders in it gives the doorway depth. Hang the 3pk Hanging Ghost Decorations in the corridor so something moves as people walk past. For the room behind the door, the 8pc Halloween Foil Balloon Set and 24pc Halloween Latex Balloons fill it out fast, and 6 Inch Glow Sticks are the easy handout for a class party. If you want a costume to match the door, the Skeleton Skull Balaclava Mask and Full Head Latex Mask are the quick options.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is this Halloween door cover?
90cm wide by 180cm high. That covers the width of a standard door with a little to spare, and hangs down most of the height rather than all of it.

How many designs are there?
Five - listed as C01 through C05. Pick the one you want from the variant selector, or order several if you are doing a corridor and want each door different.

How does it hang?
There is a reinforced grommet in each corner. Use adhesive hooks, over-door hooks, thumbtacks into a timber frame, or string tied through the top two grommets - whatever suits the door you are working with.

Can I still open and close the door?
Yes. Hang it on the door leaf and it swings with the door; hang it on the frame and the door opens behind it. Leave the bottom grommets loose if you want it to move freely.

Can it go outside?
It is made for indoor and covered outdoor use, so a porch or a verandah is fine. For a fully exposed outdoor spot in the weather, a heavier outdoor banner is the better choice.

Will the print fade?
The polyester print is made to hold its colour and does not fade easily under normal indoor light or a season of use. Store it out of direct sun between years.

Is it reusable?
Yes. Fold it flat and put it away with your other Halloween decorations. Unlike paper displays it comes out the following year in the same condition.

Fast Australian Shipping

We ship from Australian stock to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra and Darwin, plus regional addresses in every state. If you are decorating for a school Halloween week, order with a few days up your sleeve - late October is our busiest period of the year.

Colours may look slightly different on screen due to lighting and monitor settings. Please allow a small variation in measurements, as sizes are taken by hand. This is a decoration only - keep fabric clear of heaters, candles and open flame, and do not hang it where it blocks a fire exit or emergency signage.
