Description
The face of a jealous demon — this Japanese Hannya mask is hand-painted latex in the traditional Noh theatre style, with horns, bared teeth and a glare that works from across a room. Two colourways.
The Hannya (also written Prajna) is one of the most recognisable masks in Japanese theatre: a woman transformed by rage and jealousy into a demon. Each mask is individually hand painted, so the shading around the horns and mouth comes out sharper than a moulded print, and the colour sits differently on every piece.

Wearing tip: these masks look best tilted slightly up on the forehead when you're talking and pulled down when you want the effect — half the impact is in the moment you lower it.
Why Choose This Mask
-
Hand-painted detail - shading and highlights a printed mask can't match
-
Traditional design - the Hannya face recognised from Noh and Kabuki theatre
-
Latex build - holds its shape and detail
-
Two colourways - red for rage, white for a spirit look
-
Cosplay and Halloween - samurai, oni, yokai and anime-inspired costumes
Care & Safety
Wipe the outside with a damp cloth and store flat, away from heat and direct sun so the latex doesn't harden. Check your vision through the eye openings before wearing it anywhere you'll be moving around, and don't drive or ride in it.
Not suitable for anyone with a latex allergy. Please allow slight colour variation due to different monitor settings, since each mask is hand painted.
Costume Ideas
Pair it with a black kimono or haori for a traditional oni look, or with modern streetwear for the contrast that shows up well in photos.
It also suits anime and samurai-inspired cosplay where a demon face is part of the character, and works as a wall piece once Halloween is over.
