Description

A magnetic pen holder for $17.50 - 12 x 5.6 x 2.6cm, with a strong magnet across the entire back so it grips a whiteboard, fridge or locker without slipping. It puts the markers where they are used instead of in a drawer on the other side of the room.

The reason whiteboard markers go missing is that they have nowhere to live. A pen cup on a desk is three metres from the board, so markers get put down on the nearest flat surface and are gone by the following week. A holder that sticks to the board itself removes the decision entirely. The magnet runs across the whole back rather than being two small discs in the corners, which is what stops it sliding down a vertical surface once there is weight in it.

Why Choose This Magnetic Pen Holder

  • Magnet across the whole back - not two small discs, which is why it holds on a vertical board once it has markers in it.
  • Keeps markers at the board - the single biggest reason whiteboard markers stop going missing.
  • No screws, no adhesive - it lifts off and repositions, which matters on a rented office wall or a school locker.
  • Fits more than pens - erasers, sticky notes, paperclips, keys and phone cables all end up in it.
  • Australian stock - dispatched locally within one business day.

Where Will a Magnetic Holder Actually Stick?

Anything ferrous, which is more surfaces than most people expect. Whiteboards are the obvious one, but check yours first - most are steel-backed and magnetic, though cheaper melamine boards are not. Beyond that: fridges, dishwasher and oven fronts, metal lockers, filing cabinets, steel shelving, workshop toolboxes and the side of most metal desks. It will not hold on glass, timber, plasterboard, or on stainless steel appliances that use a non-magnetic grade, which is worth testing with a fridge magnet before you plan around it.

How Do You Stop Whiteboard Markers Drying Out?

Store them horizontally and cap them properly, both of which this holder makes easier. Stored tip-down, the ink pools at the nib and floods it; stored tip-up, the ink drains away and the nib dries. Horizontal keeps the ink distributed, which is why a shallow box on the board beats a tall cup on a desk. The other habit worth building is capping straight after use rather than at the end of the lesson - most markers die from being left open for an hour, not from age.

Is It Strong Enough for a Vertical Surface?

Yes for its intended load - a handful of markers, an eraser and small stationery. The full-back magnet spreads the grip across the whole contact area, which is what matters on a vertical board. What it is not designed for is being loaded with heavy metal objects or used as a shelf. If it does slide, the usual cause is dust or marker residue on the board surface rather than the magnet - wipe the board where it mounts and it will grip properly again.

Who Buys These

Teachers and classroom assistants, who are the largest group and often buy several, along with people setting up a home office or a study space. It also sells for kitchen use as a fridge caddy for pens and shopping lists, and for workshops and garages where a magnetic box on a toolbox keeps small parts and markers together.

Pair It With

Fill it with magnetic whiteboard markers with eraser caps, and mount it on a 90 x 60cm magnetic whiteboard. For the kitchen, a magnetic fridge calendar uses the same wall.
