Description

This triangle sink strainer basket mounts into the corner of the sink on a suction cup, is moulded from PP with an all-over hollow design so water drains straight through, and comes in grey, blue or beige from $18.99 with fast Australian shipping. Three S hooks are included at no extra cost.

The corner of a sink is dead space. It is the one part of the bowl nothing sits flat in, water pools there, and it is where a wet sponge ends up going slimy on the stainless steel. A triangular basket fills exactly that shape - it takes the space that was doing nothing, lifts the sponge and brush off the wet surface so air gets underneath, and lets the drips run back into the sink rather than onto the bench. It is a small thing that removes a small daily irritation, which is why these sell steadily rather than seasonally.

Why Choose This Sink Caddy

  • Uses space nothing else can - the triangle fits the corner of the bowl, not the flat of the bench
  • Everything drains and dries - the open design means air reaches the sponge from every side
  • No drilling or adhesive - the suction cup fits and lifts off without marking anything
  • Three S hooks thrown in - for a dish brush, a cloth or a scrubber to hang and drip dry
  • Moves anywhere smooth - it works on a bathroom sink, a caravan basin or a laundry trough just as well

Why Is a Triangle Shape Better in a Sink?

Because a sink corner is a right angle and almost nothing else is. A rectangular caddy sitting in a corner leaves two wedges of unusable space and blocks part of the bowl you actually wash in. A triangle nests into the corner flush, projects the least distance into the working area of the sink for the storage it gives you, and keeps its contents directly over the drain path so drips go where they were always going. It is also the most stable shape for a single suction point, because the load sits close to the wall rather than cantilevered out from it.

How Well Do Suction Cups Hold on a Stainless Steel Sink?

Very well on a smooth stainless bowl, and poorly on anything textured. The surface has to be genuinely smooth, clean and dry when you fit it - a film of dish soap or grease is the usual reason a cup that held for months suddenly does not. Press the cup firmly and squeeze the air out from the centre. If it starts slipping, take it off, wash both the cup and the sink wall with detergent, dry both completely, and refit. Brushed, hammered or composite granite sinks with a textured finish will not hold a suction cup reliably, and no amount of technique changes that.

What Else Can You Keep in a Sink Caddy?

Sponges and dish brushes are the obvious answer, but the useful ones are less obvious. A bar of soap that would otherwise sit in a puddle. Rings and a watch while you wash up, which is the most common place jewellery gets lost down a drain. Scourers, a bottle brush, produce being rinsed. In a bathroom it takes a razor and a toothbrush; in a caravan or a boat it holds the whole washing-up kit in a basin that has to do several jobs. Anything that needs to drain rather than sit wet.

Buyers are typically renters who cannot fix anything to a wall, people with a small single-bowl sink and no bench space beside it, caravanners and boat owners, and anyone tired of a sponge going sour on the sink edge.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the dimensions?
The supplier does not publish measurements for this item. The product images show it in a standard sink for scale.

Will it hold on a granite composite sink?
Usually not. Those surfaces are textured, and suction cups need a smooth, non-porous face.

How do I fit it?
Clip the suction cup into the button on the back, press the cup into a clean dry corner, then clip the basket onto the button.

Can it be moved?
Yes. Lift the edge of the cup to release it, wash and dry both surfaces, and refit somewhere else.

Is it dishwasher safe?
The supplier does not state a rating. Warm soapy water and a rinse is the safe clean for PP.

What colour are the fittings?
The button colour on the beige basket is supplied at random.

Does it hold a full-size dish brush?
The three S hooks are there for exactly that - hang the brush rather than standing it in the basket.

Suction mounting requires a smooth, clean, dry, non-porous surface. It will not hold reliably on textured, brushed, composite or porous sinks. Do not use it to hold heavy, sharp or breakable items, or anything that would cause harm if it fell. Colours may vary slightly between screens and batches, and button colours on the beige basket are supplied at random. The supplier does not publish dimensions for this item.
